Ronni Olson's Fundraiser
Building Homes, Bridging Worlds
Join me and help make a difference.
My name is Ronni Olson, daughter of Christopher Olson, and I'm one of the two co-founders of the "Building Homes, Bridging Worlds" project. As a 12th grade student at Cocoa Beach High School in Florida, I am co-founding this initiative with my friend, Tamaya Murphrey Zuniga a 12th grade student in Costa Rica. I will recruit workers for the project in the USA, Tamaya will recruit workers in Costa Rica, and we will work together on the financial model and fundraising. We're raising $15,750 to build a home in 5 days, November 27th to December 2nd,for a local family in Chinampas, Costa Rica's Nicoya Peninsula, partnering with Mercy Homes founded by Maximo Cisneros and The Foundation Latin America.
The mission of this project is multifaceted: to provide immediate humanitarian aid by building shelter, to foster entrepreneurial skills through student-led fundraising, and to immerse participants in Costa Rica's rural culture—learning about healthy living, strong family bonds, and simplicity. Beyond these goals, we seek to inspire a new era of student engagement in transformative, problem-based projects that create multi-generational impact. Too often, high school service hours feel like a begrudging obligation—short, disconnected tasks with no lasting footprint. This initiative shifts that paradigm, allowing students to experience the profound satisfaction of contributing to something eternal: a home that will shelter generations, spark community unity, and open eyes to global perspectives.
Imagine the impact: A family with children, once with unstable housing, now has a safe, stable home of their own. It's more than walls and a roof—it's a place where children study without worry, parents plan with dignity, and the whole family thrives.
This gift changes lives forever, ending instability and building hope for generations. Your tax-deductible gift through our 501(c)(3) will make a real difference.
